Hone Your Skills

Beyond its world-class faculty, research centers and academic resources, the Brown University School of Public Health distinguishes itself through hands-on, methods-based concentrations that give students the marketable skills employers demand. The curriculum builds technical expertise that can be applied across the complete range of public health problems and settings, preparing graduates to meet the field’s evolving demands.

Brown’s MPH curriculum has four parts, which work in concert to ensure your academic and professional success: a core MPH curriculum, a methods-based concentration, an elective bundle and, finally, applied knowledge and practical training that you will acquire through the MPH Practicum and a thesis or capstone project.

This innovative approach means you learn public health your way, grounded in a rigorous yet flexible course of study that empowers you to build expertise in your own areas of interest.
